Distribution of Rotar per Län, Infantry, 1854

Län is a regional subdivision of Sweden and is normally translated into County in English. However, it should not be compared to the US county which is a local subdivision. Map of the Swedish Län (counties) and the county codes.

Overview - Infantry, Part 1

The chart below shows the distribution of "rotar" per infantry regiment and county. In other words where were a regiment's "rotar" located? If we take the Kalmar Regiment as an example we can see that the regiment had 401 "rotar" located within Jönköping county (Jkp län, F), 352 within Kronoberg county (Kbl, G) and 347 within Kalmar county (Klm, H), in total 1,100 "rotar".
